Mental Health
A few tips on promoting good mental health at work.
Dealing with our everyday struggles doesn’t only make us physically tired. It also has a negative impact on our mental health and wellbeing, which then can lead to depression, losses of concentration and many more issues. You havr a right to feel comfortable at work at all time and it’s your employer’s responsibility to ensure you do.
It’s okay not the be okay. It’s okay to feel bad. You’re okay to ask for help. This week in Bevlan Blog we’ll give you a few tips on how to fight mental health issues.
Try to organise your tasks on a timeline
It’s not the best idea to do everything all at once. However, sometimes the amount of work we have to complete is so enormous, we have no choice but deal with the customer on the phone, while writing an email to our boss and scheduling appointments for the next day. There is just not enough time to do everything.
Organising your work on an actual timeline will help you manage your time better, get the work completed on time, and will give you the confidence of completing all of the tasks if you only stick to the plan and get things done within the timeframe.
Be part of the team
Working with others can have a very positive impact on your mental wellbeing in many different ways. One of which is simply improving your communication and social skills. You can very easily make new friends at work by approaching them in a very friendly way. You’ll be surprised how many problems can be easily solved, by simply talking about them with a friend.
Celebrate every small victory
You make things happen! You should be proud! Celebrate every small success, achievement and victory. Share the good news with your friends at work, or even your boss! It a great to feel appreciated an needed. It can boost your confidence and motivate you to achieve even more. So, what are you waiting for? Go out there and be proud of yourself!
Lunch break is a great opportunity to get to know each other a little bit better
Lunchtime is probably the most-awaited time of the day (apart from finally going home :), obviously). You can easily relax, grab a bite and have a chat with someone. It’s a great opportunity to improve your social skills, share your views with someone, and even make new friends.
Bevlan’s range of Social Spaces and all of the Breakout furniture can help you and your employees spend some good time together during the lunchtime and improve relationships at work. We’ve expanded a little bit more on that topic in one of your previous editions of Bevlan Blog. Click here to give it a read!
Ask for help
You must remember that it’s okay not to be okay. It’s not your fault that you need help. Everyone needs it sometimes. It’s important that you know where to go if you are struggling with your problems at work, or in your personal life. You can (and should) ask for help doesn’t matter if the issue is related to your mental health, or physical health. Your company’s HR staff, your manager, your supervisor, all these people are there for you. They will try to help you and if they can’t they’ll tell you who can.
Go out there and ask. It’s easier to solve problems together.
