Discover the predicted trends in colour and furniture for 2023
One prediction for this year is the ever growing public interest of maintaining a sustainable living. People are becoming evermore conscious of their impact on the environment and are often opting for more sustainable, planet-friendly options. Established interiors experts such as Emma Merry and Beth and Jon Miller agree that sustainable interior design will be a key trend in 2023 moving forward.
A good eco friendly interior design and sustainability can make your home or office warmer, drier, healthier and safer, cut your energy bills, save water all while helping the environment. The use of sustainable materials reduces the environmental impact of various materials and substances. When selecting materials for use in new and restored interior spaces, designers are now taking a life-cycle approach. The direct and indirect effects of construction materials and supplies are being examined at all manufacturing stages, usage, and future removal and disposal.
Hopefully by now, you should have heard of our remarkable ` New and used department` If not check it out- click here. This department is bursting with pre-loved furniture patiently waiting for a new home. By offering pre-loved furniture in our showroom, Bevlan recycles whilst supporting local businesses with small budgets.
Additionally, we are proud to offer customers the option of having old chairs professionally refurbished or disposed of in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. We work with partner organisations to support initiatives that enable old chairs to be reused by schools, charities and community groups. We have donated furniture to charities such as Community Led Initiatives in Manchester to enable them to make a difference and support their worthy cause.
Jess Weeth of popular Interior Design Studio Weeth Home, explained; curved furnishings will continue to shine in 2023. “Mixing clean-lined pieces with curved silhouettes creates tension and drama”.
Curves have a unique way of softening a room and although curved furniture is nothing but new, it is growing increasingly popular due to its manner of giving the eye a natural place to rest. Arguably, furniture that feels good is considerably important. Plus, curved interiors are proven to give off a relaxing, calming, and welcoming feel due to a softness and rounded organic appearance.
In 2022, we saw interior designers get increasingly comfortable experimenting with bold, dark colours, and designers expect that trend to continue into the New Year. Sherwin-Williams; one of America’s leading industry specialists in paints announced their “Colour of the year 2023” as Redend Point. They describe as a “Soulful blush-beige”. Other interior designers such as Suzanne Duin from Maison Maison Design. and Barbi Walter’s of The Lynden Lane Co. commented on their predictions of “rich chocolate brown” making a stand in interiors in 2023.
“Pattern makes a space feel lived in and inviting while providing flexibility for accessorizing. For example, you can display a larger pattern repeat on a focal point like wallpaper, then play off that by adding layers to the room with smaller pattern repeats on things like pillows.”— Hayley English, Founder and Principal Designer, Hayley English Interiors, Pasadena, California
