Community arts by ZK
Project overview
Community Arts by ZK is a non-for-profit charity that brings the communities from different age ranges, walks of life and social, cultural backgrounds together, with a strong emphasis on community cohesion and integration to help build friendships and a stronger community.
Zaneb Khatun, the CEO, first contacted Alicia, our Sales Manager & point of contact for Business First, towards the end of 2019 as Caroline, the centre manager at Business First Business Centre, had passed on our details to her in regards to designing, supplying, installing & project management of her new office.
Zaneb was planning on taking a unit at the new Northlight Mill Business Centre in Nelson when it was built in 2020 and was looking to get ideas and to start the process of what her new office looked like.
After a visit to the Burnley site to measure up an office and after an initial consultation the design for the room was developed, including CAD drawings and CGI Renders.

Choosing office space and theme
At the end of October 2020, Zaneb contacted Alicia to say the rooms where ready and she was in a position to make final decisions and to get things finalised and ready to order.
The next stage was for Zaneb and Alicia to visit Northlight to have a look at the available and rooms and seeking the advice & expertise of Bevlan’s years of planning & designing office spaces a decision was reached as to which would be the best room for both space & acoustics for Community Arts by ZK to take and move into in January 2021. The room itself had fantastic, large windows looking out to the courtyard with a high ceiling, felt incredible spacious with a colour pallet of dark grey and white walls already incorporated which was decided to pull out and use as the main scheme alongside the company’s brand colours.
Product configurations
The next step was to choose the fabrics, finishes and desking. A final decision was made as to go with the slate grey, white accents to complement the greys already in the room and to use the colours in the logo to bring the brand into the room. After that, a render was produced to show how the proposed colour schemes would look.
Finishing Touches
Alicia suggested the Community Arts by ZK logo would work really well on the wall. One of her contacts has put her through to Wrapped UK – local vinyl specialists based in Colne, Lancashire, to meet Zaneb and to work directly with Zaneb to create this for her.
In November, Zaneb said that she was happy with the design and the ideas, and gave the go-ahead to proceed with the install requested in December ready for her to have an open day in January and to move in at the start of 2021 to start the year ahead in their new home.
Alicia felt a few little extras would complete the project for Zaneb so organised a name plack for the Zaneb’s desk and put her design process in photo frames for the office walls to show Zaneb’s story. Installation was completed mid-December and we await to hear Zaneb’s take on how she felt the project went.
